Word reaches the RCTU, through our diverse base of sources, that HMRC plans to drastically increase the number of staff that are classed as “mobile”. Basically they have the statistics, so it is said, to demonstrate that 20% of desktop computers are not used which means that 15000 staff are “mobile”.
There are a huge number of issues in such a strategy that range from the “conversation” of Building our Future , to terms and conditions of service , the exact definition of the word “mobile” through to the very real need to understand what such a statistic is and why it exists.
The RCTU would want serious and detailed discussions on such an initiative before it was even announced. Unfortunately this it all about to happen.
If you want a Trade Union that will act before an announcement and be engaged with the employer to protect jobs, locations and terms and conditions of service – then join the RCTU today.
