What is the RCTU ?
The R&C Trade Union (RCTU) has been formally established as a listed Trade Union as per the Trade Union & Labour Relations Act 1992 (TULRA). This means RCTU satisfies the statutory definition of a trade union.
Rule 2.1 - To protect and promote the interests, terms and conditions, professionalism and effectiveness of members working in Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and the Valuation Office Agency VOA.
And Rule 2.5 - These aims and objectives will be pursued and practised independently of any and all political affiliation, connection or otherwise with any and all political parties , grouping or factions.
We know that speaking directly to the employer on the issues that matter to HMRC staff and most importantly actually delivering outcomes is the only way to succeed. If you do not talk to the employer or actually do the Trade Union work at a national level then all a Trade Union is a section of well meaning personal case workers. Solve the macro to reduce the micro. Not exactly rocket science?
To those who say the employer will not respond a national level and the only way is industrial action ; we say it has not worked in the past and will not in the future and that means we go on the way we are . The employer goes on and we remain bottom of all the organisations in the annual staff survey. That is not a victory ; it is a damning statement that must change.
In addition to that we offer a service that extends beyond the workplace and at NO extra cost. Our benefits that you (and also that any co-habiting partner can enjoy ) are :
Comprehensive Legal Expenses Insurance
Home Emergency Insurance
Then for even more peace of mind and a minimal extra cost:
